Coconut products have been found to have antimicrobial properties that sink into the bloodstream and transfer to the baby via breastmilk. There is an increased antimicrobial properties found in mummies breastmilk, when they ingest coconut products. A study published in 1998 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has shown that lactating mothers who eat coconut products have significantly increased levels of Lauric acid and Capric Acid in their breastmilk. Fennel has also been found to help relieve symptoms of colic; to help a baby’s digestion, when the herb is passed through breastmilk from the mother to the infant.
